Procel has, and uses, the latest Vermeer vacuum excavation system for its potholing and other non-destructive digging needs.
Procel's vacuum excavation uses high pressure jets of water to loosen soil, which is then sucked up through a vacuum hose. It locates underground services without damaging the utilities.

Procel's hydro excavation system provides an alternative to jack hammering and drilling, whilst:
- Exposing underground electrical cables, pipes and conduits
- Reducing disturbance to surroundings/environment
- Preventing damage to nearby materials
- Using water for rapid excavation (thereby increasing safety for users / insurers)
Using air to expose underground assets (thereby reducing liability)
- Providing exploratory digging to locate services prior to major works
- Potholing to a depth of 4 metres
- Providing an easy and safe method for potholing and trenching
- Being safe for use around gas and telephone lines, water pipes, tree roots, electrical cables and the like
Procel’s hydro excavation unit is also designed to remove a variety of wet and dry materials, its applications include:
- Cleaning out storm drains, manholes and the like
Locating underground utilities
- Cleaning up treatment plants, saw mills, road spills and the like
- Vacuuming out retention ponds
- Excavating small rocks, dry sand and the like
